I'm a 30-something year old wife and mother of three wonderful boys. After many years of emotional & mental issues, medication issues and (obviously) food issues, I have ended up overweight and tired all the time. Knowing my illnesses will not get better if I don't become healthier I had decided to start the long journey to Weight Loss Surgery (WLS) to better myself. I want to be the fun, healthy mom... and dare I say it?... the 'hot mom' & wife. Here's my journey before and after my gastric bypass surgery, along with some recipes.

Bariatric 'No's'

I HAVE to share this article with you all - - I just read it and can't agree more!  I've mentioned this before, but I'm SO tired of reading all the sob stories about how so and so ate a doughnut, fries, garlic bread, pasta salad, bagel and cheesecake and now they're confused why they gained the weight back.  Ugh!  Are you serious?  Or those people that say "You can have anything you want - just don't eat as much".... NO!  If you eat a bite of cheesecake, your body will WANT the cheesecake and think it's ok to crave it.  If you get used to NOT eating it at all - your body will become satisfied with healthier options and no longer crave the things that stick to our thighs and ass.  Ugh!

This is a tool - - that's it.  It's a tool to help us lose the weight while we are learning new habits and become healthier.  It is not a fool-proof plan that will continue to work when we decide to quit or cheat.  SO frustrated with the people that go through this process and then sabotage their own health.  If that's what they choose to do - then shut up about it - I don't want to hear it.  I am following the rules, doing my best and trying to learn new ways of eating and living so that I can become healthy and STAY healthy.  I want this to be a long term effect on my life, not just a quick weight loss and then quick re-gain.

Alright... I've griped enough.  Here's the website article I am referring to - - I love it!!
